Baking powder biscuits

So light, and airy!

Baking powder biscuits
(adapted from"The ultimate book of baking")

1 1/3 cup flour
2 Tablespoons sugar
3 Teaspoons baking powder
1/8 Teaspoon salt
5 Tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
½ cup milk

Preheat oven to 425 F. Combine the dry ingredients, then add butter pieces, and blend well until mixture resembles crumbs. Stir in milk. Mix until nice, and smooth, then transfer to a lightly floured surface, and roll out to about 1/4inch thickness. Cut out biscuits with cookie cutters, and bake about 12 minutes or until lightly golden.

Love, love these easy recipes for homemade goodness! We really liked the taste, and texture; just delicious! I made a little change by decreasing the sugar, because I didn’t want them to be on the sweet side, but of course that is just personal taste.

Also, they are not as golden as in the picture from the book, but I guess even though it is not mentioned in the recipe, they brushed them with egg yolk wash. I am doing that next time : )
Flower shaped cutters make them "tastier" for the kids!
